Patient Care Technician
Graduates of this diploma program can perform basic laboratory skills related to phlebotomy, hematology and urinalysis. They also perform acute care skills required in hospitals, nursing homes, extended care facilities, or as members of a home health care team.
Students possessing a high school diploma or GED are eligible to take the national PCT certification test given by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), if they have achieved CNA certification.
Externships
Many programs offered at Tucson College include an externship at an approved site upon completion of the required coursework. The externship provides the student with an actual work environment in which to apply skills learned in the classroom.
